FAQ

Good to know

Who can enter FOX Legacy #1?
The competition is open to all regions under Valve's general eligibility rules. The event is eligible for the Valve Regional Standings (VRS), but VRS points are not required to participate. Only individuals over 13 years of age may register.
How much is the entry fee?
€950 + VAT (if applicable) per team. Registration opens August 21 at 19:00 CET. The fee is non-refundable unless the tournament is cancelled.
How does registration work?
The team representative fills in the registration form — all fields are required. The first registered teams are selected and contacted to proceed with payment. The entry fee must be paid within the given deadline, after which a confirmation email is sent to the representative. Teams that miss the payment deadline are replaced by backup teams, in order of form submission.
How are teams seeded?
Teams with an eligible core listed in the Valve ranking receive higher seeds than the remaining teams. Seeding is based on the VRS ranking as of 7 September. For teams without a VRS ranking, the HLTV ranking from the same date is used as secondary criteria. If there are teams without VRS and HLTV ranks, the average FACEIT Elo of the registered players at the end of the day on 7 September is used.
What is the competition format?
With 11–12 teams: two round-robin groups played in best of 1, top three of each group advance. Group winners go straight to the semifinals, the other four to the quarterfinals, and the playoffs are double elimination in best of 3 across three days.
Who runs the tournament?
FOX Legacy #1 is managed by Carlos "KKM" Martins and appointed staff. The tournament is held at SAW Esports Arena, but no SAW employees take part in tournament management. If SAW competes, they receive no special treatment.
What equipment do players bring?
Each player brings their own peripherals — keyboard, mouse, mousepad, sound card, headset and in-ears. Noise-cancelling headphones plus in-ears are mandatory in every match. Missing gear that cannot be solved within 15 minutes of the scheduled match time is a map/match loss.
